Editing a character walking

As our teacher thought that the scene where our male actor walked up the stairs, he suggested we looked at a previous students work where they edited a girl walked from one room to another.

In the opening scene they have cut her walking into three pieces from three different angles. This way you dont see her whole walk, but you see the character get from A to B in a short amount of time which looks good. After seeing this, I believe we should see Luke going up the stairs first from behind, then cut to the front, the cut to him going up the next set of stairs, and then cut to him arriving at the top. This way we wont take up too much of our footage which a boring walking scene, we can cut it up and make it interesting. The other benefit of this is that we could also jump between two scenes at a time. We could have Luke coming up the stairs and then cut to Charli in a panic to escape and then cut back to Luke approaching, and then back to Charli looking scared. This research has given me a bettter understanding of good editing.
