Attempting blinks and working with the camera

As we previously decided with our initial idea, we wanted to include some sort of blink which was from the characters point of view when they're waking up or dying. Today we attempted to create this effect in various different ways, and neither worked very well. The first attempt was for us to be filming and I got two pieces of paper shaped as an eye and slowly closed them together. However this idea was extremely amateur and didnt give anything near the effect we wanted. Next we tried to use the computer to create a blink on Photoshop, unfortunately this looked too fake and computerised to look anything like a person naturally blinking. We finally attempted this again with a piece of paper by just cutting a slit in it and opening and closing it, again this didnt work. We resulting in trying the effects in Premiere Pro and found out that the fades which can be at different speeds was the best, and also a lot easier for us to perform.

In the lesson we also started to look at titles and found that we could leave our titles to fade from the black scene onto the film and then dissolve. Our research from other films has also influenced our work because many films hold a title for four seconds, whcih is what we intend to do in our film. Keeping the titles for this long and fading into the film and then dissolving, creates our own effect and doesnt make it cliche.
We have moved forward by thinking about our editing and titles, and we are making good progress.
Here is some footage of our work today.
