Final Film

Here is our final film. Although we were under a lot of pressure with our deadlines and problems, I believe we worked very well and I am proud of our product.

Editing 12th April - Problem

When me and Hannah arrived at Nicoles, we began to edit and were making good progress up until the mac wouldnt open our project. None of our group knew how to fix it, which meant we would have to abandon the rest of the editing and email our teacher telling him that we wouldnt have our work in for our extended deadline. This seems as if nothing is going our way, but thankfully, he told us to bring it in on Monday when school starts and he would fix it for us. We then had our Tuesday lesson to edit it and give in our final piece.

Filming 29th March

This was our last date to film and we needed to re-film lukes beginning scenes and the ending with a better reaction. When the characters got into costume, we decided it looked better that Luke had no socks on as it looked a bit quirky and cold blooded. This mean that we had to re-film him going up the stairs. As we'd storyboarded and made a shot list for the ending and beginning, we split into two groups to film the two scenes.
Nicole filmed Charli's reaction when the door was opened and I helped out with filming that scene too when i was needed. And Hannah filmed Luke in the study and I used the spare camera (we had three) to film the long shots when appropriate. This meant we again worked at a good pace and got a lot of footage. When we filmed the two actors together we all filmed and kept filming this about 20 times so we didnt have to film it again and to ensure all the shots were of a great standard. The actors were very good at the last scene, it think it was because it was more natural for the girl to react like that to a kidnapper. This has made me relax a bit more as all we have to do is edit these scenes now and we should be done.

Ideas for Titles

Today in lesson our teacher suggests that we edit our titles to have them judder when they appear to give a more thrilling effect. He showed us how we would do it and we would have to create around 7 versions of each title and place them in a different postion to the previous one and then place them in a close sequence in our project. This process was quite long and as none of our group know how to do it very well, I think it may be a better idea to just leave our titles as they are. The effect looks very good, they used it in the 'Se7en' film and it looks creepy and professional, but we are tight on time as it is and I think if we choose to go ahead, we will be thrown off schedule again. Here it is shown on Se7en:

New Logo

We have designed our production company label, Hannah managed to do this on photoshop. This will come at the beginning of the film and we have decided to not have our writing spin, instead to just have the logo move into the centre from the left.
